Goldman Sachs' head of US fixed income sales is retiring after 12 years as a partner
It's nearly midway through the year, and partners are retiring from Goldman Sachs. First there was James Houghton, a macro salesman and member of Goldman's APAC operating committee. Now there's Matt Verrochi, a onetime cross-asset salesman, who was Goldman's head of Americas fixed income sales until sometime this week.

Goldman Sachs isn't commenting but sources at the firm say that Verrochi has retired. He became a managing director at the firm in 2010 and a partner in 2012. As is the case with partners who leave, Verrochi will remain affiliated to Goldman in an advisory role.
It is not clear who will replace Verrochi. He began his career at Goldman Sachs in 2004 and ran the San Francisco trading floor from 2015 before being promoted to co-head Americas fixed income sales in New York in 2021.
Verrochi, to whom we have not spoken, appears to be genuinely retiring. If he wants another job, he could always try Citadel Securities, where some retired Goldman partners seem to be having a second wind.
