The 2026 Ideal Recruiter report is based on a survey we ran across 2025, which received over 7,500 responses from industry professionals. Each one was asked their industry – and each one was asked what the best recruiter in their space was.

One of the industries our respondents came from was investment banking – and, by quite some margin, the most popular recruiter in investment banking was Selby Jennings. The firm, which has offices in the US, London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Zurich, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, is the marquee brand of global recruitment agency Phaidon International.

In second place was Dartmouth Partners. Headquartered in London and with offices in New York and Charlotte, the firm was founded in 2012 by former PwC analyst Logan Naidu. It’s now headed up by Terri Loska, who worked with Naidu at recruitment firm the Cornell Partnership, a firm he also founded.

Dartmouth “supported me throughout my interview process with insight into the field and the firm,” said one London-based private equity professional in our survey. “They have positioned themselves to be visible to the professionals of the field with excellent industry networking,” said another.

Maven Partnership came third in our ranking of banking recruiters. The firm – which has more than 80 people – with offices in New York, West Palm Beach, London, Dubai, and Hong Kong. Maven was founded in 2007 by Gaurav Sethi, and it is now headed up by Will Hannaford as CEO, with Rizwaan Ahmed serving as Managing Partner for Global Banking.

Selby Jennings helped me relocate within IB and where I needed visa sponsorship - unsurprising they're up there. EMEA team is the best i've worked with in my career.

North America must be pulling some weight, but there is no way I would ever trust Selby Jennings to represent my firm's hiring in APAC.
