Hedge fund Citadel hires new head of core trading platform from a fintech
It's common for investment bankers to move to hedge funds, less so for fintech staff to do so. One ex-fintech executive has just made the jump to Citadel in New York, but has a strong electronic trading background.

Prerak Sanghvi has joined Citadel as the head of its core trading platform. Sanghvi will report to Rupam Yadav, the former Goldman Sachs partner who joined Citadel last May as its head of electronic trading engineering.
Sanghvi joined from Clear Street, a cloud infrastructure fintech, where he ran technology related to risk, execution and pricing. Clear Street is based in New York, and is home to plenty of ex-banking MDs.
Prior to Clear Street, Sanghvi was an MD and global head of electronic trading technology at RBC Capital Markets, and head of ventures technology at stock exchange IEX. He also co-founded Proof Trading, a low latency trading platform built entirely on the cloud. The hedge fund's sister firm, Citadel Securities, announced that it was building a cloud-based research technology platform in partnership with Google Cloud last year.
Citadel declined to comment.
