Almost everyone got a 2025 bonus at Stripe in London. Almost no one got a bonus at Starling Bank
Many people who join fintech do so in the hope of earning stock in their firm that will balloon in value as it grows. If you want to earn that stock pay, or indeed any other kind of bonus, you'll have to choose your fintech carefully.

The UK's government mandated gender pay gap disclosure filings require fintechs to break down the gender-split of their organization, and say how many men and women each received bonuses last year (in either stock or cash). From that, we can extrapolate how many people across the organization received bonuses that year.
Starling Bank is a glaringly poor performer: just 6.9% of employees received a 2025/26 bonus. It's down from ~8.5% in 2024/25, but there have been even worse years for the bank; in its 2023/24 report, the first filing after the departure of founder Anne Boden, just 2% of staff received any sort of bonus.
One of the best places to work for bonuses is Atom Bank, which has given every employee a bonus for the last three years. In its most recent accounts (for the year ending March 2025) it paid an average of £52.4k ($70.4k) in 'salaries and wages'. That's on the lower end as far as UK fintechs go but it makes up for that by also offering remote working and a four-day week.
The other best option, which has a reputation for much higher pay, is payments giant Stripe. It regularly reports that over 90% of staff earn bonuses and, last year, 96% of people were given one. While we don't have accounts for 2025 from Stripe yet, previous accounts have separated salaries from other compensation; in 2024, 96% of UK staff (~277 people) shared £26.6m in bonuses, meaning they earned roughly £96k per head.
Revolut offers bonuses to the majority of its employees, but men earn an egregious amount more than women. Its gender pay disclosure revealed that the mean bonus for women was over 85% lower than the mean bonus for men.
