A major North American bank that plays a leading role in the Canadian pension and retirement savings space are looking to bring on an Investment Actuary to lead financial stewardship for one of their specialized institutional pension plans. If you're an experienced actuary who enjoys owning both the technical and strategic sides of a plan's financial health, this role offers real influence at the board and executive level.

What You'll Do

Own the funding strategy, investment oversight, and overall financial stewardship of the plan, ensuring its long-term sustainability and alignment with regulatory and strategic objectives.
Work hand-in-hand with the Plan Actuary to oversee actuarial valuations, funding assumptions, and long-range funding strategy.
Evaluate funding risk, benefit sustainability, and regulatory compliance, translating complex analysis into clear recommendations for the Board and senior leadership.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support sound, forward-looking decision-making.
Manage relationships with key external partners - actuarial consultants, auditors, and investment managers.
Collaborate with peer Directors across the organization to weave funding and investment considerations into broader enterprise strategy and risk management.

What You Bring

A university degree in finance, accounting, economics, actuarial science, or a related field.
ASA/ACIA or FSA/FCIA
8+ years of progressive leadership experience in pension funding, investments, finance, or actuarial oversight.
Deep knowledge of pension funding rules, investment governance, and financial reporting standards.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
