Quantitative Developer
Our client, a leading hedge fund, is seeking a Quantitative Developer to join a desk-aligned front-office investment team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a Portfolio Manager, building and enhancing the technology that underpins the development, deployment, and management of trading strategies.
Sitting at the intersection of technology and investing, this role offers close exposure to the investment process and a tight feedback loop with end users. Embedded within the desk, you will contribute to the evolution of a business-critical trading platform, with a particular focus on backtesting capabilities, reporting infrastructure, dashboarding, and monitoring tools.
You will play a key role in increasing transparency across trading activity while developing scalable solutions that enable investment teams to test, evaluate, and manage strategies more effectively. The position combines hands-on software engineering with direct engagement with investment professionals, offering clear visibility into the impact of the technology you build.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop production-grade software and infrastructure with a strong focus on engineering quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Partner directly with Portfolio Managers to translate investment requirements into scalable technology solutions.
- Design and build reporting, monitoring, dashboarding, and alerting capabilities to provide visibility into trading activity across the Fixed Income business.
- Contribute to the development of backtesting infrastructure and strategy evaluation tools.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Quantitative Developer, Software Engineer, Quantitative Engineer, or similar engineering-focused role.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including system design, architecture, testing, and production software development.
- Programming skills in Python or another object-oriented programming language.
- Previous experience within a hedge fund or market maker, or candidates who have moved from finance into a leading technology company
