Our client, a leading global hedge fund, is seeking a Python Quant Developer to join a highly collaborative quantitative trading and research team. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly alongside Quantitative Researchers and Portfolio Managers, building the research platforms, simulation frameworks, data pipelines, and tooling that support the development of systematic trading strategies.
The role is focused on enabling quantitative research at scale. You'll develop and enhance the infrastructure used to analyse large datasets, generate and test new signals, run simulations and backtests, and deploy research models into production. Working closely with researchers on a daily basis, you'll help improve research productivity and accelerate the journey from idea generation through to live trading.
This position offers direct exposure to the investment process and a clear line of sight between the technology you build and the performance of the strategies it supports. Rather than operating within a central technology function, you'll be embedded within the investment team, solving complex engineering challenges that directly influence how new trading ideas are researched, evaluated, and deployed.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and enhance Python-based research tools, data platforms, and analytics infrastructure.
- Develop simulation, backtesting, and signal-testing frameworks for systematic trading strategies.
- Partner with Quantitative Researchers and Traders to productionise new investment ideas.
- Drive software engineering best practices across the research platform, including testing, CI/CD, and scalable system design.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science
- Strong Python development experience, with a proven track record building scalable, data-intensive applications and research tooling.
- Previous experience as a Quant Developer, Strat, Quantitative Engineer, or front-office Software Engineer within an investment bank, hedge fund, market maker, or systematic trading environment.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including testing, version control, CI/CD, and building production-grade systems.
