Our client is a leading independent investment management firm with a long-standing reputation for delivering bespoke investment solutions to private clients, families, charities and professional intermediaries.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Investment Manager to join their established Private Client team. This is an excellent opportunity for an investment professional who enjoys building long-term client relationships, managing discretionary portfolios and contributing to business development within a collaborative, high-performing environment.
The Role
Working alongside senior Account Directors, you'll support the management of a portfolio of private clients, helping to deliver tailored investment advice and exceptional client service.
You'll play an active role in portfolio construction, investment decision-making and client meetings, while also supporting new business opportunities. As your experience develops, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your own client relationships and contribute directly to the growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the management of discretionary investment portfolios for private clients.
- Review client portfolios to ensure they remain aligned with investment objectives and house strategy.
- Monitor portfolio compliance, suitability and administrative requirements.
- Attend client meetings, annual reviews and investment presentations alongside senior Investment Managers.
- Prepare client valuations, investment reports, presentations and meeting packs.
- Execute and oversee investments across a range of asset classes, including equities, fixed income, funds and foreign exchange.
- Contribute to investment discussions and portfolio management decisions.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless client onboarding, account administration and ongoing servicing.
- Assist with strategic projects, regulatory initiatives and process improvements.
- Support business development by preparing investment proposals, presentations and responses to client opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with professional intermediaries and referral partners.
We're looking for an ambitious investment professional with experience managing private client portfolios and delivering outstanding client service.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience within private client investment management, wealth management or discretionary portfolio management.
- A strong understanding of equity, fixed income, collective investments and alternative asset classes.
- Experience managing or supporting discretionary investment portfolios.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the confidence to interact directly with clients and professional advisers.
- Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building abilities.
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- A proactive and collaborative approach with a genuine interest in developing long-term client relationships.
- Good IT and analytical skills, including experience using portfolio management systems.
- A Level 6 investment qualification (or working towards one), such as the CISI Level 6 or equivalent, would be advantageous
