Key Responsibilities:
Corporate Action & Income Processing
- Lead and oversee the complete operational lifecycle for all corporate action events (mandatory, voluntary, and elective) and income distributions, ensuring precise and timely execution.
- Manage the coordination and resolution of complex, non-routine, and sensitive corporate events, including mergers, takeovers, rights issues, and other market-critical transactions.
- Proactively monitor event processing performance, identify potential delays or risks, and make rapid, informed decisions to mitigate operational impact and financial exposure.
Risk, Control & Operational Resilience
- Identify and assess operational bottlenecks, emerging risks, and control gaps within the asset servicing workflow.
- Collaborate with internal risk and compliance teams to enhance controls, strengthen governance frameworks, and fortify the overall operational environment against processing errors.
- Lead incident management protocols, conduct thorough root cause analyses, and implement robust remediation plans to ensure operational resilience and prevent recurrence of service disruptions.
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary escalation point and key liaison for issuers, transfer agents, global custodians, broker-dealers, and external clients to ensure flawless communication and coordination for all corporate events.
- Represent the department in cross-functional working groups, industry forums, and strategic project committees, advocating for operational efficiency and client-centric solutions.
Strategic Projects & Business Transformation
- Lead or actively participate in strategic initiatives, including the launch of new asset classes, system upgrades, automation projects, and the implementation of new regulatory requirements.
- Drive process re-engineering and digital transformation efforts to improve scalability, reduce manual intervention, enhance risk controls, and elevate the overall client experience.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Directly manage and mentor a medium-sized team (10+ professionals) dedicated to asset servicing operations, ensuring the consistent delivery of business-as-usual activities.
- Provide inspiring leadership, constructive coaching, and structured development plans to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and execution excellence.
- Champion employee engagement and well-being by maintaining open communication, recognizing achievements, and creating a supportive environment that encourages professional growth and meaningful contribution.
Qualifications & Experience:
- University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in corporate actions, asset servicing, or custody operations within a major financial institution, with at least 6 years in a leadership/managerial capacity.
- Deep subject matter expertise in securities market operations, corporate action processing, and income distribution methodologies.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects, operational transformations, and regulatory implementations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with senior internal stakeholders and external partners.
