A rapidly growing specialty insurance platform is seeking a Vice President, Actuarial Pricing to join its Actuarial & Analytics team. This is an opportunity to take ownership of pricing strategy for a unique portfolio of specialty commercial business and play a key role in shaping the future of an expanding organization.

This position is ideal for an actuary who enjoys building rather than maintaining. The successful candidate will have significant influence over pricing methodology, portfolio analytics, underwriting strategy, and business decision-making. You will work directly with senior leadership, underwriting, claims, and analytics teams to develop frameworks that support profitable growth across a diverse and evolving portfolio.

Unlike many actuarial roles, this position offers the opportunity to create and refine pricing approaches in an environment where judgment, creativity, and commercial thinking are just as important as technical expertise.

• Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of pricing methodologies across multiple specialty products
• Build and own pricing tools, rating frameworks, and portfolio monitoring capabilities
• Partner closely with underwriting leadership to evaluate account-level opportunities and portfolio performance
• Perform profitability analyses, rate adequacy assessments, and actual versus expected performance reviews
• Develop reporting and analytics to identify trends, emerging risks, and areas of opportunity
• Support business planning initiatives through pricing and portfolio insights
• Work cross-functionally with underwriting, claims, finance, and data teams to improve decision-making and drive profitable growth
• Leverage internal and external data sources to refine pricing assumptions and business strategy
• Communicate findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders throughout the organization

• ACAS or FCAS designation required
• 5+ years of P&C actuarial experience
• Experience in commercial lines pricing, specialty insurance, excess casualty, professional liability, cyber, E&S, programs, reinsurance, or related lines preferred
• Demonstrated experience developing pricing models, rating tools, or portfolio analytics
• Strong business acumen and ability to communicate complex ideas to non-technical audiences
• Experience partnering directly with underwriting and business leadership
• Proficiency with actuarial and analytical tools such as SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, or similar technologies
