Reporting directly to Corporate FP&A leadership, the role offers significant exposure to executive decision-makers and the opportunity to influence business performance across a complex, multi-location organization. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor, helping leaders make informed decisions through insightful financial analysis, strategic recommendations, and hands-on operational support.

Position Overview

The Strategic Regional Finance Manager will lead financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and business performance analysis for a designated region. This individual will develop a deep understanding of the business, serving as both a strategic thought partner and an operational finance leader.

The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and is comfortable moving seamlessly between executive-level presentations and detailed financial analysis. Success in this role requires strong modeling skills, executive presence, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to transform complex data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

Regional Financial Performance Management

  • Develop a deep understanding of regional operations, including business, office-level, and functional performance drivers.
  • Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages that clearly communicate business performance and key insights.
  • Analyze revenue, profitability, utilization, productivity, and other operational KPIs to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Evaluate variances against budget, forecast, and prior-year performance.
  • Build proactive reporting frameworks and leading indicators to identify risks and opportunities before they impact results.
  • Investigate root causes behind financial and operational performance trends and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Lead annual budgeting processes, long-range planning initiatives, and rolling forecasts.

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Serve as the primary financial advisor to regional leadership teams.
  • Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and growth investments.
  • Participate in leadership discussions regarding business performance, expansion opportunities, and resource allocation.
  • Develop scenario analyses and financial models to evaluate strategic alternatives.
  • Deliver recommendations that support informed decision-making and business growth.
  • Track execution of key initiatives and ensure accountability for agreed-upon actions.
  • Support leadership teams with ad hoc analysis and special projects.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead regional planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities.
  • Build dynamic financial models that support both strategic and operational decisions.
  • Improve forecast accuracy through thoughtful trend analysis and business partnership.
  • Develop reporting tools and dashboards that improve visibility into financial performance.
  • Partner with operational leaders to align financial plans with business objectives.
  • Continuously improve planning processes and financial reporting capabilities.

Growth & Acquisition Support

  • Support financial evaluation of acquisition opportunities and growth initiatives.
  • Assist with financial diligence, integration planning, and synergy tracking.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and provide financial recommendations.
  • Support onboarding and integration activities for newly acquired businesses.
  • Monitor post-acquisition performance against financial expectations.

Systems, Automation & Process Improvement

  • Improve reporting infrastructure, forecasting processes, and financial analytics capabilities.
  • Develop reporting dashboards and self-service analytical tools.
  • Drive automation and process improvements that enhance scalability and efficiency.
  • Partner with finance systems and technology teams to improve reporting consistency and data quality.
  • Support standardization of financial metrics, planning methodologies, and reporting practices across the organization.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field required.
  • MBA, CPA, CFA, or other advanced credentials strongly preferred.

Professional Experience

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, or business-unit finance.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering directly with operational or executive leadership teams.
  • Prior experience within professional services, business services, private equity-backed organizations, consulting environments, or complex multi-location businesses preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Naturally inquisitive with a willingness to investigate beyond surface-level results.
  • Excellent organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative, low-ego leadership style with a focus on partnership and execution.
