Build it from the ground up. A prestigious Investment Management client is bringing its Power BI reporting in-house, and they want a senior developer to lead it. You'll set the standards, design the models, and shape how the business uses its data for years to come. The contract is 6 months initially, on a long-term programme. You'll own Power BI reports end to end, working with confidential financial data alongside the Technology data team.
What you'll bring
- DAX: time intelligence, context transition, iterators; able to debug filter context
- Data modelling: star schema, cardinality and filter direction, many-to-many and role-playing dimensions
- Power Query/M: query folding, parameters, incremental refresh
- SQL: strong T-SQL, performant views, facts/dimensions/SCDs
- Performance tuning: Performance Analyzer, DAX Studio
- Power BI Service: workspaces, apps, gateways, refresh, deployment pipelines, capacity/Fabric
- Security: RLS/OLS, sensitivity labels, sharing governance
- Release practice: Git with PBIP/TMDL, Tabular Editor, CI/CD
- Report design: drill-through, bookmarks, tooltips, clear UX for business users
