Marks Sattin are delighted to be partnering with an established organisation in Doncaster to recruit an experienced
Payroll Specialist to join their payroll function.



This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys taking ownership of end-to-end payroll processes, working collaboratively with key stakeholders and contributing to ongoing systems and process improvements.



Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll and pensions services, whilst maintaining high standards of compliance and customer service.




Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end weekly and monthly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.


• Oversee pensions administration, auto-enrolment, expenses, overpayments and employment tax requirements.


• Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, payroll legislation, internal controls and audit requirements.


• Act as a key point of contact for payroll queries, working closely with HR, Finance and external providers.


• Support the delivery of payroll services in line with agreed SLAs and KPIs.


• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.


• Support payroll system enhancements, testing and the implementation of new functionality.


• Contribute to a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate

• A minimum of 3 years' experience managing end-to-end payroll and pensions processes.


• Strong knowledge of UK and Republic of Ireland payroll legislation and statutory requirements.


• A good understanding of payroll controls, compliance and regulatory requirements.


• Previous involvement in payroll system improvements, upgrades or process automation.


• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.


• Confident communication skills with the ability to build relationships across different departments.


• A CIPP qualification or Level 3 Payroll Apprenticeship would be advantageous but is not essential.
