Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated and curious individual to join our Executive & Professional, Financial Institutions team as a Summer Intern. This 12-week paid internship offers a deep dive into the world of commercial underwriting.

You will:

• Learn how to evaluate and underwrite Financial Institution with a focus on banks, insurance companies, real estate, private equity and asset managers.
• Gain exposure to the insurance lifecycle with a focus on management liability insurance.
• Collaborate with experienced underwriters and cross-functional teams.
• Participate in real-world projects that impact our customers and business.
• Collaborate with BHSI Interns across North America.

You will be part of a dynamic and supportive underwriting team that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. Your work will directly contribute to protecting our clients' assets and ensuring the profitability of our portfolio.

Qualifications:

• Interest in Insurance, underwriting, market trends or pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science)

• Proficiency in math and comfortable with statistics, probability and financial principles
• Effective communicator and team player

The base salary range for this position in New York is from $22/hour - $26/hour; a candidate's salary is determined by their relevant skills and experience. We value our teammates - both their capabilities and character - as demonstrated by our amazing culture.
