Job Title: Quality Inspector




Location: Sheffield, On site




Shift Pattern: Our shift arrangements in Sheffield are alternating weeks, days and back shift. This attracts a fixed 15% shift premium. There will be requirement (although not mandatory) for overtime.



Day Shift - Monday - Friday (0600-1430 Monday-Thursday, 0600-1100 Friday)



Back Shift - Monday - Thursday (1400-1145)




Salary: £40,000+ (Depending on experience)

Job description:



As a Quality Inspector, you will support the delivery of quality assurance and inspection activities across current and future programmes. Working closely with production, quality, and engineering teams, you will verify product compliance, investigate non-conformances, and ensure inspection activities are completed to the required standards. This role offers opportunities to develop your skills, contribute to a variety of projects, and support continuous improvement across the quality function.




Core duties:



  • Conduct inspection and verification activities, ensuring products comply with programme, customer, and quality requirements

  • Investigate and verify non-conformances, supporting the Quality Management team in identifying and resolving issues

  • Utilise calibrated measuring equipment to assess product conformity, record inspection results, and identify any deviations from specification.

  • Liaise with production, engineering, and quality teams to support operational requirements and build effective working relationships

  • Undertake multi-faceted quality inspection activities with minimal supervision while supporting continuous improvement and compliance stratergies




Essential skills:



  • PCN Level 2 certification in Radiographic Testing (RT) and Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI)

  • Knowledge of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and their implementation within a manufacturing or engineering environment

  • Understanding of production processes and the role quality inspection plays in supporting operational delivery

  • Good knowledge of Quality Inspection and Control processes, including awareness of ISO 9001 quality standards and associated compliance requirements

  • Awareness of regulatory, export control , and customer requirements, including regulations such as awareness of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (where applicable)
