We are seeking an experienced Quantexa Model Tuning Consultant to support the optimisation, validation, and calibration of transaction monitoring models within a leading Financial Crime programme. This role will focus on enhancing detection effectiveness, reducing false positives, and ensuring transaction monitoring scenarios are aligned with regulatory requirements and organisational risk appetite.
The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in transaction monitoring, scenario tuning, model validation, and financial crime risk management, with hands-on experience working within the Quantexa platform. You will collaborate with Compliance, Financial Crime, Data, and Technology teams to ensure monitoring models are robust, scalable, and effective in detecting suspicious activity.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the tuning, calibration, and optimisation of Quantexa transaction monitoring models and scenarios to improve detection performance and operational efficiency.
Design, develop, and enhance transaction monitoring rules, thresholds, scorecards, and segmentation frameworks using risk-based methodologies.
Analyse model performance and recommend threshold adjustments to balance alert quality, false positive reduction, and regulatory effectiveness.
Execute scenario testing activities, including:
Back-testing
Forward-testing
Threshold analysis
Sensitivity analysis
Performance benchmarking
Support model validation activities by documenting methodologies, assumptions, test results, and performance metrics.
Assess and refine customer, product, geographic, and transactional segmentation strategies within the Quantexa environment.
Translate financial crime and transaction monitoring requirements into technical configurations and solution designs.
Partner with engineering and data teams to ensure model changes are accurately implemented, tested, and deployed.
Work closely with Compliance, AML, Risk, Operations, and Technology stakeholders to ensure monitoring solutions meet regulatory expectations.
Identify opportunities to improve data quality, data lineage, and data controls underpinning transaction monitoring models.
Contribute to governance, audit, and regulatory review activities relating to transaction monitoring effectiveness and model performance.
Provide subject matter expertise on Financial Crime, AML, KYC, CDD, EDD, and suspicious activity monitoring.
Proven experience tuning and optimising transaction monitoring models and scenarios ideally within Quantexa.

Detection Optimisation
Hands-on experience conducting back-testing, threshold analysis, sensitivity testing, and model performance assessments.
Strong understanding of model validation frameworks, governance requirements, and regulatory expectations.
Experience translating business and regulatory requirements into technical configurations and analytical models.
Ability to work effectively with engineering teams through configuration, build, testing, and deployment lifecycles.
Strong knowledge of AML and Financial Crime regulations, including CDD, EDD, Sanctions, and SAR reporting obligations.
Experience working with large-scale Financial Crime Transformation programmes.
Knowledge of data modelling, data architecture, and data integration principles.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience working within complex financial services environments.
