About our client
A well-established and highly reputable investment manager is seeking to recruit an experienced ESG professional to join its global sustainability team to lead the development and execution of the sustainable investing strategy for the firm's private credit products.
What the job involves

• Collaborating closely with the investment team to ensure consistent, robust and effective integration of ESG throughout the investment process
• Lead the engagement strategy for the private credit strategies, working closely with borrowers in a range of sectors to improve ESG outcomes
• Tailor the firm's existing sustainable investment framework to private credit
• Represent the firm's private credit capabilities, evidencing the ESG integration process to clients, consultants and other external and internal stakeholders
• Lead active engagement with prospective and current investee companies in collaboration with the investment team, with the goal of driving positive change on ESG issues - highlighting strategic opportunities for investee companies to integrate sustainability, and to provide constructive advice on how to drive improvement
• Leverage sector and thematic expertise to build effective engagement plans for investee companies
• Contribute to the development of the firm's responsible investment policies, relating to private credit
• Keep abreast of regulatory developments and play a lead role in the incorporation of regulation in all ESG activities

• Experience of ESG integration in private assets
• Ability to work collaboratively with teams across the business
• Operating independently with confidence and credibility to influence tangible outcomes at a senior stakeholder level both internally and externally
• Ability to think strategically to develop best-in-class solutions, facilitate and streamline processes and propose solutions to enhance impact and efficiency
• Strong research, writing and analytical skills
• Proactive, high energy approach with strong project management skills
