What the day will look like
Operational Leadership & Direction
- Lead the Health and Talent Business Governance and Operations team, ensuring priorities are aligned to business, Aon Business Services and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and deliver business governance and operational plans that support strategic objectives and measurable outcomes.
- Partner with senior leaders to provide governance, operational and business management support, helping to drive effective decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve business performance, operational effectiveness and colleague experience.
Governance & Control
- Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of governance, risk and control processes across the Health and Talent business.
- Ensure governance forums, policies and reporting processes operate effectively, with clear ownership and accountability.
- Support the management of audit, compliance and regulatory requirements, ensuring timely delivery of actions and remediation plans.
- Partner with Solution Line and Aon Business Services stakeholders to identify, manage and mitigate operational and governance risks.
Operational Excellence & Efficiency
- Drive operational effectiveness through process simplification, standardisation and automation initiatives.
- Lead continuous improvement activities that improve productivity, reduce operational risk and support business growth.
- Ensure operational processes and controls remain effective, scalable and fit for purpose.
- Support the implementation of key business and operational change initiatives.
Financial Management
- Manage the Business Governance and Operations budget, forecasting and planning activities in line with business requirements.
- Monitor financial performance, identifying risks, opportunities and corrective actions as required.
- Support resource and investment decisions through effective financial analysis and reporting.
MI & Reporting
- Lead the development and maintenance of management information, reporting and performance metrics to support business objectives.
- Provide timely and accurate insights to leadership teams on performance, risk, governance and operational activity.
- Use data and analysis to identify trends, highlight areas for improvement and support decision-making.
- Drive continuous enhancement of reporting capabilities and data quality.
People
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Manage organisational capability, workforce planning and succession requirements within the team.
- Support colleague development through coaching, performance management and targeted development opportunities.
- Contribute as an active member of the Health and Talent leadership team, supporting delivery of business objectives and broader organisational priorities.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of business governance, operational management and business support activities within a regulated, professional services or financial services environment.
- Good knowledge of governance frameworks, including decision-making structures, risk management, audit, compliance and internal controls.
- Sound financial management knowledge, including budgeting, forecasting and resource planning.
- Understanding of operational excellence principles, including process improvement, simplification, standardisation and automation.
- Experience developing and utilising management information, KPIs and reporting to support business performance and decision-making.
- Knowledge of organisational effectiveness, workforce planning, talent development and succession planning.
Skills
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to translate business priorities into clear objectives, plans and measurable outcomes.
- Effective stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across Solution Lines, ABS and support functions.
- Experience leading governance and operational processes, ensuring consistency, accountability and effective controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks, identify opportunities and recommend practical solutions.
- Financial management skills, including budget oversight, forecasting and resource management.
- Data-driven decision-making skills, using insights and performance metrics to identify trends and improve outcomes.
- People leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, talent development and team engagement.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a complex environment.
