About the Company

Our client is a leading European energy trading and renewable energy business, active across multiple international markets with a strong focus on power trading, renewable energy solutions, PPAs and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

As part of its continued growth strategy, the business is investing heavily in its Origination function across Central and South-Eastern Europe. With a substantial renewable project pipeline and ambitious plans to expand its battery storage portfolio, the company is seeking experienced Power & BESS Originators to support its next phase of commercial growth.

The Opportunity

This is a commercially focused origination role responsible for identifying, developing and executing structured energy solutions for industrial clients, renewable developers, utilities, investors and energy-intensive customers.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing long-term customer relationships, originating new business opportunities and supporting the growth of the company's renewable and flexibility portfolio across European markets.

Whilst an understanding of power markets, PPAs and battery storage solutions is advantageous, the business places significant emphasis on commercial capability, relationship management and deal origination expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Originate and develop new business opportunities across power, renewable energy and battery storage markets.
• Build and maintain relationships with renewable developers, utilities, corporate offtakers, industrial customers, investors and asset owners.
• Structure and negotiate:
  • Physical and financial PPAs
  • Route-to-market agreements
  • BESS optimisation agreements
  • Energy supply and flexibility solutions
• Manage complex sales cycles from initial engagement through to execution.
• Identify market opportunities, customer requirements and emerging trends within power and renewable energy markets.
• Work closely with Trading, Portfolio Management, Analytics and Risk teams to develop innovative commercial solutions.
• Support expansion into new markets and contribute to the company's long-term growth strategy.
• Represent the business at industry conferences, client meetings and market events.

Candidate Profile

We are particularly interested in individuals who combine strong commercial instincts with the ability to build trusted, long-term relationships across the energy sector.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience in Power Origination, Renewable Energy Origination, PPA Origination, BESS Origination or a similar commercial energy role.
• Demonstrated track record of originating, negotiating and executing complex commercial transactions.
• Strong client-facing and business development capabilities.
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders across long and often complex deal cycles.
• Excellent commercial negotiation and contract structuring skills.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across internal and external stakeholder groups.

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to European wholesale power markets.
• Knowledge of battery storage, flexibility services and energy optimisation solutions.
• Experience originating PPAs, route-to-market agreements or structured power products.
• Existing network across utilities, renewable developers, industrial customers and infrastructure investors.
• Exposure to Central and Eastern European power markets.
• Familiarity with energy trading, risk management and renewable energy commercialisation.
