Role Summary

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Kubernetes platform on Azure (AKS), supporting service mesh technologies, platform automation, and cloud-native engineering practices.

You will work in a highly regulated financial environment, helping deliver secure, reliable, and scalable platform services that support critical business applications.

As part of a collaborative engineering team, you will work with senior engineers, developers, system administrators, and architects to implement platform capabilities, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, and support the adoption of modern cloud technologies across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and support AKS platform components and related Azure services
• Implement and maintain service mesh capabilities (Istio or similar) following established platform standards
• Contribute to platform automation using Terraform, GitOps, and CI/CD practices
• Support the implementation of networking, security, and governance controls
• Troubleshoot platform and application integration issues in collaboration with development teams
• Participate in platform upgrades, migrations, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
• Share knowledge with team members and support onboarding activities
• Participate in operational support and watch duty rotations

Required Skills

• Strong experience with:
• Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Kubernetes administration and troubleshooting
• Azure networking fundamentals
• Helm
• Git-based workflows
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Good understanding of:
• Service Mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd, Kuma, etc.)
• Network policies
• TLS, certificates, and platform security concepts
• GitOps practices (ArgoCD or similar)
• CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with:
• Supporting and operating production platforms
• Agile/Scrum delivery models
• Working with developers to troubleshoot and improve platform services

Nice to Have

• OpenShift
• Azure App Services
• Certificate management solutions
• Observability and monitoring platforms
• .NET application environments
• Financial services or other regulated industries

About the Team

Group Technology Services (GTS) plans, builds and runs the global infrastructure of Euroclear, and is additionally responsible for the IT service management to the operating entities of the various Group markets. Group Technology Services operates its IT systems and IT services in such a way that, at an appropriate and benchmarked cost level, it can deliver the agreed levels of service to support the requirements of the business processes, for both normal operations and during disaster recovery.
