Market Risk Management's role has become the increasingly important within the bank. The dynamics of new regulations affect the market risk practice consistently. As a Market Risk Management Officer at ABN AMRO you are responsible for identifying, analyzing, quantifying and managing the market risk of the bank's trading book. Together with all stakeholders you act upon these risks. In addition, you support and coach your junior officers with regard to complex market risk issues. Your job
Managing the market risk of the trading book, including equity risk, FX risk, interest risk and commodity risk, is your main responsibility. In your business as usual you use MUREX. You also participate in new product approvals and new business initiatives set up. Furthermore, you are the point of contact for stakeholders in large market risk related projects. The implementation of new regulation FRTB can be a project you either participate in or lead. You visualize which options the bank has to adjust the market risk within the desired risk appetite. Market Risk is subject to changes due to requests from regulators, these demands cause the dynamics and sometimes pressure. To meet the requirements you need to act quick, analyze, think fast and team up all the relevant stakeholders.

Your working environment
The Market Risk Management department is the second line of defense for market risk within ABN AMRO. Currently the department consists of ten persons, but the role of the department is increasing, which is why new team members are needed. The team is very international, which results a diversity of perspectives and effects the atmosphere in the most positive way. All team members interact informal, based mutual respect and understanding.The Market Risk Management department is part of the Market & ALM/ Treasury Risk department. It consists of approximately 10 colleagues. Market & ALM/ Treasury Risk provides risk management in the second line of defense regarding three types of risk: market, liquidity and solvency risks. The department is responsible for maintaining the risks from banking and trading activities at acceptable levels in line with regulations and the risk appetite of the bank.

Your profile
To be successful in this job you need strong communication and persuasion skills. You understand various trading products, pricing and risk models to ensure an appropriate advice to the first line of defense. You are familiar with Murex. You have a completed Master degree, preferably in an economics, IT or a quantitative area. You recognize Market & ALM/Treasury risks and you have insight into the consequences of these risks. You are entrepreneurial and analytical. You are capable of explaining complex things in a simple way.Do you think you're a good fit?Check out your profile:• Between 4 and 6 years of relevant market risk experience;• Knowledge of market risk management and relevant price- and market risk models;
• Understanding of financial markets, trading products and trading mandates;• Proven experience and knowledge of transaction, product, business approval processes and relevant regulations;• You are fluent in English, a good understanding of the Dutch language is preferred;• Ability to work under high pressure;• Excellent planning and organization skills;• Strong team player;
