ROLE OVERVIEW

Sapiens is looking for a Senior QA Engineer with around 8 - 10 years of experience, with a strong focus on test automation and solid hands-on manual testing ability. The role involves enhancing automation frameworks, running and debugging automation scripts, testing releases & production issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Update current base automation scripts built using Playwright/Java/TestNG to adapt to client applications
• Apply AI tools and core AI/LLM concepts (prompting, context management, agentic workflows) to accelerate test case design, test data generation, automation script creation, and defect/log analysis - with hands-on use of Claude for day-to-day QA tasks.
• Perform manual testing for functional, regression, and production/defect scenarios where automation isn't feasible or coverage is still being built.
• Triage, reproduce, and document defects with clear evidence; drive them to closure with development teams.
• Develop test plans, test cases, and API test suites (Postman/RestAssured); integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines.

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Strong hands-on automation experience with Playwright & Java; proven ability to handle complex automation frameworks
• Comfortable using AI tools efficiently with AI/LLM concepts for QA processes. Specific hands-on experience using Claude is a plus.
• Solid manual testing skills - test design, exploratory testing, and defect triage.
• API testing (Postman/RestAssured) and working SQL knowledge; exposure to CI/CD tools and Git.
• Strong client communication and Agile/Scrum experience (JIRA/Azure DevOps).
• ISTQB or equivalent certification and Insurance/BFSI domain exposure are a plus.

GOOD TO HAVE

• Exposure to testing digital customer-facing channels - self-service portals, policyholder or agent portals,
• Experience validating integrations between digital front ends and backend/core systems (APIs, single sign-on, notifications).
• Awareness of customer experience (CX) metrics and how quality issues on digital channels impact customer satisfaction and support ticket volumes.
