Senior Rates Sales / SRM role

Non-disclosed Hong Kong

Job Title: Senior Director — Senior Relationship Manager, FI & Sovereign Coverage (Rates) — Hong Kong

Location: Hong Kong (Singapore considered for the right candidate)

About the Role

A leading global bank is seeking a Senior Director-level Senior Relationship Manager to cover Hong Kong and China sovereigns, banks, insurance companies, and securities houses. This is a senior coverage role requiring genuine C-suite/Treasurer-level relationships at these institutions — not solely trading desk, portfolio management, or treasury-level contacts, ideally with relationships one to two levels above as well.

Key Requirements

  1. Proven track record covering HK/China sovereign entities, banks, insurance companies, and/or securities firms in a senior relationship management or coverage capacity
  2. Sell-side rates background is essential — candidates must come from a markets/sales or trading-aligned rates function on the sell side (not buy-side, ALM, or balance-sheet treasury rates experience)
  3. Demonstrated ability to originate and maintain senior-level relationships beyond the immediate trading/PM/treasury contact — ideally with existing access at CFO/Treasurer/CEO level
  4. Strong understanding of rates products and how they apply to sovereign and FI client needs
  5. Mandarin/Cantonese language skills strongly preferred given the client base
