The Financial Services Development Council (“FSDC”) was established by the HKSAR Government in January 2013. The FSDC engages the financial services industry of Hong Kong and formulates proposals to promote the further development of the industry and map out the strategic direction for the development of Hong Kong as an international financial centre.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supporting the Director & Head (Policy Research), to develop research-driven partnerships with professional institutions and key stakeholders from local, Mainland and targeted overseas markets;

2. To lead the development of study designs and oversee project outcomes to ensure alignment with research objectives in both local and international contexts;

3. To analyse implications of regional/ global trends and developments for the local financial services industry, providing thought leadership for FSDC’s initiatives;

4. To oversee the production / prepare research proposals, papers, reports, speeches, presentation materials and briefing materials, and organise conferences and workshops as required;

5. To work closely with the Board of Directors and Committees and to organise working groups and industry engagement meetings on various policy issues and work initiatives of the FSDC;

6. To establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across local and international markets to drive collaborations;

7. To guide and support the Policy Research Team members in developing high-quality research outputs. To extend support to other teams as necessary; and

8. To perform any other duties as and when required.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in law, accounting, economics, or related disciplines; a postgraduate degree and/or professional qualifications will be preferably viewed;

2. At least 7 years of experience in relevant industries, of which at least 2 years should be at the supervisory or management level;

3. Proven ability to conduct policy and/or financial market research, including transforming data and findings into actionable insights and drawing broader implications, with minimal supervision is a must;

4. Strong interpersonal skills, with experience in engaging with top-level executives and senior public sector stakeholders being highly preferred;

5. Good knowledge of the financial sector, including banking, insurance and asset management industries, or relevant experience in government-related or other non-profit organisations;

6. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and carry out the assigned tasks with an analytical mind and in an organised manner;

7. A demonstrated record of being an attentive, reliable, and flexible professional genuinely committed to corporate goals;

8. Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua; and

9. Proficiency in computer knowledge and skills, including MS Office and Chinese word processing.

Terms of Appointment & Package
