Renowned for their innovative investment strategies and commitment to excellence, they are currently seeking a high-calibre Procurement Assistant Manager to join their procurement team. This is a fantastic opportunity to partner with senior business leaders and drive strategic sourcing initiatives.
About the Role: Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will play a critical role in managing end-to-end sourcing activities, primarily focusing on indirect categories such as Information Technology (Software, Hardware, Cloud), Market Data, Professional Services, and Corporate Services. You will act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, ensuring maximum commercial value while mitigating third-party risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing: Lead the end-to-end RFx process (RFI, RFP, RFQ) for assigned categories across the APAC region. Develop and execute effective sourcing strategies to drive cost optimization and commercial value.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate complex commercial terms, pricing models, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with global and regional vendors, ensuring alignment with the firm’s objectives.
- Stakeholder Partnering: Act as a dedicated procurement business partner to internal business units (e.g., IT, Operations, Investment teams). Advise senior stakeholders on market trends, supplier capabilities, and procurement best practices.
- Vendor & Risk Management: Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular business reviews. Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal risk frameworks and local regulatory requirements (e.g., SFC guidelines on third-party risk management).
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline procurement workflows, enhance policy compliance, and drive operational efficiency across the Source-to-Pay (S2P) lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional qualifications such as CIPS are highly advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum 4 to 7 years of strategic sourcing and procurement experience, preferably gained within the Financial Services, Asset Management, or Banking sectors.
- Category Expertise: Proven track record in sourcing IT, Market Data, or Professional Services is a distinct advantage.
- Skillset: Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to navigate complex contractual structures.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) is required.
