The Company

Our client is an international bank with a long-standing corporate banking presence in Asia. Its transaction banking team works alongside coverage bankers to help companies manage the practical financial demands of trading and operating across borders, from supplier payments and collections through to trade documentation and liquidity management.

The team is adding a senior sales professional to support its China-related corporate client base and develop business across key Asian trade routes. This is a client-facing position for someone who enjoys getting close to a company's operating model, understanding where cash gets tied up, and bringing the right internal teams together to solve it.

The Role

• Work with corporate banking Relationship Managers to identify transaction banking opportunities among China-linked companies operating across Asia.
• Lead client conversations around trade finance, payables and receivables finance, collections, payments, account services and straightforward cash-management needs.
• Develop practical proposals that improve visibility, payment processes, working-capital efficiency or trade-flow support.
• Take ownership of the transaction-banking sales process, from early opportunity identification through proposal, internal approval, onboarding and revenue follow-up.
• Attend client meetings and coverage discussions, providing product input on live prospects and existing client relationships.
• Coordinate with trade, cash-management, implementation and operations colleagues to ensure proposed solutions can be delivered effectively.
• Build familiarity with local market practices and client treasury needs across relevant APAC markets, sharing useful observations with the wider team.
• Contribute to expanding the bank's transaction-banking business along priority regional corridors, initially focused on China-related flows.

Your Profile

• Around 10-15 years or more of relevant transaction banking experience, ideally in a client-facing sales or solution role.
• Solid grounding in traditional trade finance and working-capital solutions, including receivables and payables finance.
• Working knowledge of core cash-management products such as payments, collections, account services and liquidity solutions.
• Experience covering Chinese corporates or supporting cross-border business between China and other Asian markets.
• International banking experience and exposure to corporate relationship coverage would be valuable.
• Able to bring together product, coverage and operational stakeholders in a complex organisation.
• Fluent Mandarin and English communication skills are essential.
