Responsibilities:

Platform Management & Modernization

1. Lead / assist the design and implementation of the enterprise data platform revamp.
2. Lead / assist in technical discussions, peer code reviews, collaborative design decisions, vendor and project management.

Data Ingestion & Pipeline Engineering

1. Lead / assist in maintaining and modernizing data ingestion pipelines.
2. Ensure reliable data availability for operational reporting and banking analytic.

DataOps & Data Governance Implementation

1. Lead / assist the adoption of DataOps practices, including automation of data governance, data authorization and data analytic.
2. Monitor and maintain automated Data Quality validations within the data pipelines.

BI Modernization & Data Services

1. Support the roll-out and maintenance of self-service data initiatives for business units.
2. Lead / assist the migration of legacy reporting tools (e.g., Cognos, Tableau, MS Access) to modernized platforms.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field
2. 10+ years of experience in big data engineering, data platform architecture, and enterprise software delivery.
3. 3+ years of data platform or data application experience within banking, financial services, or a highly regulated corporate environment.
4. Proven track record of delivering major enterprise data platform revamp.
5. Proficiency in Pythons or Java for data engineering and pipeline development.
6. Relevant industry certifications (e.g. Cloudera, Huawei Cloud, Big Data / Architect certifications) are a plus
7. General understanding of banking concepts and enterprise financial data models.
8. Familiarity with data handling, data quality and privacy standards, and regulatory expectations (e.g., HKMA, PDPO) is a strong advantage.
9. Candidates with less experience will be considered as Assistant Vice President
