Data Management & Governance, organised under Transformation & Data, is the implementation of enabling infrastructures, policies, practices and procedures that allow the organisation to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of data.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex, high-impact data science and AI initiatives end to end, from problem framing and requirements discovery through data exploration, model development, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

• Partner with business, technology and governance stakeholders to deliver AI solutions to agreed scope, budget, timelines, and measurable business outcomes.

• Define and implement robust model governance - evaluation, monitoring, and responsible AI controls - for production-grade AI and machine learning solutions.

• Promote strong standards for data science and AI project development and a spirit of continuous learning in the team.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics.

• 3 to 8 years of experience in data science, machine learning, and AI, with a proven track record of developing enterprise-scale, production-grade data science / machine learning / AI initiatives as a key individual contributor.

• Proficient in Python, SQL, PySpark , and data science frameworks such as Pandas and scikit-learn.

• Proficient in data visualization tools such as Matplotlib and Plotly , with the ability to derive actionable insights from data.

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph , and evaluation approaches.

• Experience developing agentic applications on platforms such as Dify or Google Vertex AI.

• Experience in creating and using synthetic data for development and validation purposes.

• Strong engineering practices, including version control with Git, writing clean and maintainable code , performing code review .

• G ood documentation habits , with an openness to learning and sharing.

• Strong understanding of agile software development methodologies, with experience using tools like Jira and Confluence.

• Strong ability to understand a business process and deliver value through a bespoke AI / ML solution.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly insights.

Good to have

• Experience with the GCP ecosystem of tools , e.g., BigQuery for querying and manipulating datasets, Vertex AI for ML and agentic AI workflows.

• Hands-on experience in deploying and monitoring machine learning and AI models in production environments.

• Experience with CI/CD, and containerisation practices.

• Experience working in financial / regulated industries, with an appreciation for model risk governance and responsible AI principles.
