Role Overview
The AVP - Legal will be responsible for delivering legal guidance on daily legal and regulatory issues, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and assisting in litigation matters. They will oversee liaising with external lawyers and regulatory authorities and report critical legal concerns to senior management. The role includes supervising the handling of deceased and bankrupt clients’ accounts and contributing to compliance with applicable laws.

Key Skills & Experience

• Provide legal advice on securities, futures, virtual assets, digital wealth management, asset management, and insurance matters.
• Review and prepare legal documentation accurately.
• Assist in managing litigation cases related to the firm’s operations.
• Coordinate with external lawyers and professional consultants.
• Report on legal issues to senior management.
• Supervise handling of deceased clients’ and bankrupt clients’ accounts.
• Liaise with regulatory and government authorities when required.
• Hold a law degree with honours from HK.
• Possess a minimum of three years PQE in legal and financial services.
• Be familiar with laws, rules, and regulations relevant to securities, futures brokerage, and personal data protection; knowledge of virtual assets regulations is advantageous.
• Demonstrate high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Be proficient in MS Word and Excel.
• Fluency in written and spoken English, Chinese, and Putonghua.

• Draft, review, and handle legal documentation accurately.
• Manage litigation cases and liaise with external legal professionals.
• Report legal issues to senior management as needed.
• Supervise handling of deceased clients’ and bankrupt clients’ accounts processes.
• Coordinate with regulatory and government authorities on relevant legal matters.

Requirements

• A law degree with honours from HK.
• Minimum 3 years of PQE in legal and financial services field.
• Familiar with laws relating to securities, futures brokerage, and personal data protection.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Fluency in English, Chinese, and Putonghua.
• On-site work environment.
• Employment type: Asia Permanent.
