Our client, a leading international insurance brokerage firm, is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Energy Insurance Broker to join its growing Paris office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded broker with a proven ability to develop and place business within the energy sector. The role offers significant autonomy, a strong platform from which to grow a portfolio, and the opportunity to play a key role in the expansion of the firm's Energy Practice across France and, over time, Europe.

The client is open to individuals coming from a variety of energy specialisms. Candidates may have expertise in renewable energy, power generation, utilities, oil & gas, offshore/onshore energy, infrastructure, hydrogen, battery storage, solar, wind, or broader energy transition risks. Exposure to every segment is not required; the firm is primarily interested in strong brokers who have developed a recognised position within their particular area of expertise.

The Role

As a Senior Energy Broker, you will be responsible for originating, developing, and managing client relationships across the energy sector. Leveraging your market knowledge and network, you will advise clients on risk transfer solutions and lead the placement of complex insurance programmes into both domestic and international markets.

In addition to managing and growing your own portfolio, you will contribute to the long-term growth of the Energy Practice and have the opportunity to build and lead a team as the business expands.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and strengthen relationships with clients operating within the energy sector.
• Generate new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of the firm's Energy Practice.
• Structure, negotiate, and place complex insurance programmes with domestic and international insurers.
• Advise clients on risk management and insurance strategy.
• Maintain and develop strong relationships with underwriting markets.
• Deliver tailored insurance solutions aligned with clients' operational and strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the wider international network on multinational placements and projects.
• Support the development of the practice across France while helping to identify opportunities across wider European markets.
• Contribute to the future expansion of the team and broader Energy division.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience as an Energy Broker within a leading brokerage environment.
• Demonstrated ability to generate and place business.
• Strong network within at least one segment of the energy industry.
• Technical knowledge of energy-related risks and insurance programmes.
• Experience negotiating with insurers and specialist markets.
• Strong commercial acumen and business development capabilities.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with an appetite to help build and grow a practice.
• Ambition to take on wider leadership responsibilities over time.
• Fluent French and English.
