Quantitative Developer - Montreal and London- Systematic Investment Management

My client is a systematic investment manager that has deep expertise in quantitative trading, technology, and operations. They seek to achieve high quality, uncorrelated returns for clients and develop model-based investment strategies through rigorous scientific research. As a data-driven firm, technology is critical to success and they design, build and operate their own state-of-the-art systems, from high-performance automated trading platforms to large-scale data science and compute farms.

The Team:

Looking to add to their team of world class quantitative developers. Successful candidates will join a highly accomplished team of professionals working directly with quantitative researchers to design, implement, deploy and use software for research and trading. As part of the technology team, they follow modern software development principles and work with peers in technology to mature and evolve these tools for wider use. Quantitative developers drive cross-team initiatives with technologists and quantitative researchers across all asset classes to achieve the firm's objectives.

Candidate Requirements:

The candidate must have a strong work ethic, be enthusiastic to work on the bleeding edge of technology, and have the drive to push through complex initiatives. Attention to detail and defensive programming experience.

Qualifications:

• Degree in applied math, physics, engineering, quantitative finance, computer science
• 2 or more years' experience with Python, C++ and standard libraries
• Working knowledge of finance, data storage, processing and analysis
• Experience with modern software development: Version control, agile development
• Excellent technical communication skills
• Ability to rapidly learn and apply new technologies
• Ability to balance tactical work while pursuing long-term strategic projects

Desirable/Nice to have:

• Graduate degree
• Kdb+/q or database experience
• Advanced quantitative skills
• Experience with requirements analysis and designing software solutions
