Compliance Manager

Reporting to the CRO and Head of Compliance, the Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the Company has appropriate compliance related rules and procedures and will undertake monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of controls. In addition, the Compliance Manager will promote a positive compliance culture throughout the Company’s operations.

Compliance Manager required for Insurance Firm based in Dublin 4. Our client is an authorised Insurance Firm who is regulated by the Irish Central Bank and FCA. Joining a small team in their Dublin 4 office the ideal applicant will have 5 years’ plus Compliance experience, ideally within the Insurance arena. Previous experience in developing a Compliance Audit required. 

Reporting to the CRO and Head of Compliance, the Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the Company has appropriate compliance related rules and procedures and will undertake monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of controls. In addition, the Compliance Manager will promote a positive compliance culture throughout the Company’s operations. 

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the following tasks:

• Develop, implement and maintain the compliance related rules and procedures in the Dublin office
• Identify new and emerging legislation and ensure that staff are aware of requirements
• Establish Annual Compliance Plan 
• Manage and develop the compliance audit programme to monitor the effectiveness of controls
• Complete compliance audits to ensure that service providers in Ireland and the UK adhere to service level agreements and the requirements of the Central Bank of Ireland and the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority
• Ensure that the Company is compliant with data protection rules 
• Provide compliance training for staff to promote a positive compliance culture
• Provide Company Secretarial support to the Company’s Board of Directors

Experience Required:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a similar compliance, risk or internal audit role. 
• Third level business, finance, legal or similar degree
• ACOI qualification, or working towards
• Previous Financial Services experience, ideally within Insurance 
• Previous experience of monitoring compliance with consumer protection rules is highly advantageous
• Previous experience in performing compliance audit
• Strong communication and presentation skills
